Electrical Package Engineer (Engineering Management)
Leader of the “team of 5”:
The “team of 5” consists of the Package Engineer, Buyer, Expeditor, Responsible Engineer, and SQS Coordinator.
• Deliver vendor data for procured items to Engineering in alignment with the Engineering schedule
• Deliver procured items on time to meet the fabrication and construction schedules
• Deliver procured items to fabrication and construction fully complete (no carryover work)
• Procured items to be manufactured per Engineering, Quality, and SID (Safety in Design) specifications.
• Single point ownership and accountability for delivering packages and vendor data to Engineering, Fabrication, and Construction to meet the engineering schedule and RAS (Required at Site) dates.
• Coordinates across all functional teams to ensure package delivery meets cost, RAS dates, as well as Engineering, Quality, and SID specifications.
The functional team interfaces include, but are not limited to: Responsible Engineers, Buyers, Expeditors, Core Discipline Engineers, Area Project Engineers, Area Planners, Project Controls, SQS (Supplier Quality Surveillance), Preservation, Materials Management, Logistics, Legal, Finance, Regulatory Affairs, Construction, and Fabrication.
• Responsible for managing cost, schedule, and changes for their packages by coordinating with the appropriate Functional Teams.

• Responsible for delivering vendor data to engineering in alignment with the engineering schedule.
Verify the vendor PDS (Project Document Schedule) meets the project priority. Coordinate update of the PDS as required
Coordinate with document expediting to expedite vendor data per the project priority. Note the overall priority across areas are set by the Package Delivery Leads
Effectively communicate vendor data gaps and mitigation plans to the Area Project Engineers on a regular basis
• Coordinate with appropriate SME's (Subject Matter Experts) to develop storage plans for equipment/materials shipped early to site.
• Attend KOM's (Kick Off Meetings), PIM's (Pre Inspection Meetings), sponsor meetings, and all interim progress meetings
• Closely monitor the vendor engineering, procurement, and fabrication schedule.
• Work with the vendor to understand schedule risks and develop appropriate mitigations/recovery plans with the vendor.
• Initiate and coordinate site visits as required to re-align the vendor if they fall behind schedule
• Set 30/60/90/180 day milestone targets for their packages. Ensure the target dates align with the engineering, fabrication, and construction schedules. If not, work with the appropriate stakeholders to align the dates or develop mitigation plans.
• Leverage knowledge of the SQS inspector to understand the vendor manufacturing status as well as any issues/roadblocks resulting from these inspections. Coordinate resolution of issues raised by the SQS inspector.
• Coordinate with Fabrication and Construction on the planning and execution of package carry over work.
• Attend appropriate PDSR (Procurement Document Status Report), MSR (Material Status Report), and ACR (Action Control Register) meetings and coordinate timely closure of actions.
• Report package status to the Package Delivery Lead
• Timely escalation of issues/roadblocks to the Package Delivery Lead
• Reconciliation of quantities and materials from all project areas to be used by procurement
• Review FATs (Factory Acceptance Tests) and sign off on acceptance test as required
• Sign off to endorse design development or scope changes to PCs (Purchase Contracts)
• Work with the Area Project Engineers to set changing schedule priorities
• Undertake risk assessment of the suppliers schedule with Engineering; mitigate risks; plan for emergencies; revise Engineering & Procurement schedule accordingly.
