Having been fortunate enough to be brought up in a bilingual environment, as my mother is Polish, I feel that this set the foundations for future language learning and a desire for exposure to different cultures. Initially I studied German at secondary school, frequently participating in German exchanges and undertaking work experience at a German school. However, I decided to study Russian at university having always had an interest in Russian language and culture. During my course I spend a year living in Russia working and studying and I feel this shaped my understanding of modern Russia, both from a business and cultural perspective. I believe that my study of languages has helped me to enhance my real strength, which I consider stands out as my ability to communicate effectively and form strong relationships. In my spare time I am keen musician, enjoying playing the piano live, both in a jazz and classical atmosphere.
