Director of AUA Services
Management of Faculty and Student non-academic services, overseeing AUA’s auxiliary enterprises: i.e., food services and special events, copy and fax services,
transportation services, seminars, conferences, fitness center, clinic, bookstore, as
well as marketing of AUA Barsam Suites, and AUA Business Center.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Implement the marketing strategy and occupancy plan for the rental of AUA campus buildings and AUA Business Center.
- Develop an RFP and lead a Tender Committee for selecting an operator for running AUA’s Main Building Cafeteria, develop the partnership agreement
with chosen operator, oversee procurement and shipment of kitchen equipment and supplies, oversee cafeteria’s ongoing operations (food variety, prices, quality, and safety).
- Develop an RFP for outsourcing AUA Paramaz Avedisian building Café and
Bookstore, develop a lease agreement with the chosen operator, oversee ongoing operations of these units.
- Develop an RFP for outsourcing AUA Barsam Suites hotel, develop a lease
agreement with the selected operator.
- Develop an RFP and lead a Tender Committee for outsourcing AUA Paramaz
Avedisian Building fitness center, develop a lease agreement with the selected
operator.
- Update the university/Armenia tour/guidebook promoting Armenia’s cultural and historical wealth for use by foreign faculty, staff, special envoys and visitors from abroad; organize orientation sessions, sightseeing tours and special events; and attend to travel and permit documents with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Visas and Passports Agency of the Police.
- Attend to the housing needs of foreign faculty and staff, including procurement, contracting, conflict resolution and management/oversight of tactical and budgetary requirements.
- Manage the Copy and Fax Services, including planning and oversight of on-time equipment maintenance and repairs, user rate adjustments and other quality assurance elements.
- Prepare budgets for Faculty Services, Copy and Fax Services, Special Events,
and Auxiliary Enterprises based on detailed needs and performance assessments and ensuring the efficient use of financial and human resources. Develop reports and recommendations for improved operations.
- Oversee the operations of the Health Clinic.
- Organize and coordinate seminars, conferences and other external and
internal special events, including vendor negotiations, contracting, and quality assurance of services.
- Manage or participate in special projects, including (a) periodic audits and assessments of various university services and functions; (b) developing and
maintaining the university website; (c) review of Administrative Policies’ and Personnel Manuals.
Select Achievements:
- Outsourced AUA Main Building Cafeteria, the AUA Paramaz Avedisian Café and Bookstore, AUA Fitness Center, and AUA Barsam Suites hotel thus considerably increasing the University revenues.
- Coordinated the logistics of IFIP WG7.5 international working conference on
Reliability and Optimization of Structural Systems organized by AUA.
