- Development and implementation of M.tuberculosis molecular genotyping methods (Whole Genome Sequencing, multilocus VNTR typing) and supporting IT systems; performing cluster analysis (Bionumerics) and reporting; molecular epidemiology/WGS data analysis and interpretation; development and validation of WGS pipelines; - Leadership and co-ordination of a multicenter international research and development project on building capacity, creation and maintenance of TB Reference Laboratory Network across EU; - Grant management (including financial management), preparing reports; data analysis and presentation at workshops, meetings and conferences; - Involvement in development and implementation of standards of laboratory diagnosis, external quality assurance schemes, development, validation and implementation of novel diagnostic methods and assays; - working with stakeholders; close communication and collaboration with heads of National TB Reference laboratories and project leaders, National TB program managers and industry; - conducting research (TB molecular laboratory diagnosis, genotyping, next generation sequencing, rapid molecular tools), developing and implementation of standards of laboratory diagnosis, external quality assurance schemes; - Training activities: supervising under- and postgraduate students, developing training curricula; providing training and teaching on various aspects of TB/HIV, laboratory diagnosis, epidemiology, prevention of infections; - Writing and preparation of grant proposals, - Senior clinical scientist responsibilities in TB reference laboratory, including supervising junior staff members; running complex assays and reading and interpreting results; quality assurance and QC; authorizing laboratory test results; consulting clinicians; conducting audits;
