The project involves upgrading this massive corporation from Windows XP machines to Windows 7. * Around 1300 client Windows 7 work stations were successfully deployed by our team. * The project was over many sites (Kingswood, Cardiff, Hove, Birmingham etc) I worked with the Cardiff team to deploy the users new machines and provide support. * Our team reported to the team supervisor or our team manager directly. * When I was assigned to be a Deployment Engineer,my daily responsibilities were to deploy Windows 7 desktops or Laptops to our clients working at Legal & General , I was to make sure we have followed the software list that our clients used depending on the department they worked. If there was missing softwares on the computers I would make sure we would install them through a software platform called Astra or it would be IBM Tivoli software platform. * When I was assigned to become a Floorwalker my daily tasks were to make sure I was up to schedule , walk around floors and desks to make sure everything was operating in a smooth way. If there was a problem with client pc then we would try to resolve it then and there through our systems.Being a Floor Walker ment we had to be able to resolve every problem on the system whether it was a client problem , network problem or a server side problem.This was a challenging task to take on because there was a lot of aspects to cover from as there was a lot of client computers , a large software list that they have used , a number of servers and telephone systems. * Because it was an inbound call centre they had Avaya telephony systems connected via Session Initiation Protocol. VOIP was the telephony system they used for 90% or more of their Business calls. * This was also a very customer service based role, everyday we were communicating with clients trying to resolve their problems and try to keep them happy with the system they were using.
