For the past five years I have worked on a consultancy basis for a number of clients. This has enabled me to put the skills and experience I have gathered over the years to effective use. The work has encompassed a range of areas including risk, operations management, quality management, supply chain management and more. Working with business owners, I have found it gratifying to see positive change come about as a result of my intervention. I have also spent time in recent years returning to my first love of writing, and creating content for a number of websites on a diverse range of topics from business advice to sport to travel.

Unbelievable is the latest business venture created by an entrepreneur with a track record of more than 20 years in new business creation. The company provides a bespoke range of leisure services to a high-earning customer base on a members-only basis. I joined the enterprise pre-start up with the title of Company Secretary, but carrying out a broad role in all aspects of the start up. Working alongside the founder and CEO, I had overall responsibility for company administration, ensuring all applicable aspects of Company Law were followed. During the start up I was also responsible for creating the company's business plan, crafting company terms and conditions of business, negotiating contractual terms and agreeing operating practices with suppliers and partners and managing the company's portfolio of products and services. As the second-in-command of a new business, no two days were the same and I took an active role in every part of the business, including legal, quality, customer relationship management, sales, IT and operations.

Claims and litigation management, including negotiation and settlement of multi million dollar disputes at a fraction of their value and without damaging customer relationships. Creating and delivering training materials in compliance and the code of ethics to staff at all levels all around the world, including locations in Kazakhstan. Building and developing a risk management programme appropriate for a FTSE-100 company. Included crafting and running risk workshops at various locations and following up on the action plans. Review, negotiation and approval of client contracts from a risk management perspective. Investigation of compliance breaches in accordance with the Code of Ethics. Operational audits and reviews, and follow up. All at locations all around the world, but a lot of activity in Kazakhstan, Russia, Azerbaijan and the surrounding area.

Developing new inspection and testing protocols for various household products. Providing technical assistance to coordinating offices worldwide. Carrying out operational audits and training courses. Creating audit and training materials.
